Affecting more particularly women with a fair complexion, rosacea is characterized by the appearance of redness on certain areas of the face (cheeks, nose, chin). It comes from a weakness of the blood capillaries, which, by dint of reacting to external aggressions (cold, sun, etc.), lose their ability to retract, and remain dilated, causing unsightly persistent redness. They can be treated effectively when they still occur episodically. Because once well established and permanent, only laser treatments can make them disappear. Prevention is therefore essential!
